SilverBlaze, which recently announced the launch of its new website and rebranded software, is going one step further to give back to the community this year with a string of golf sponsorships.

So far in 2018, SilverBlaze has sponsored the IBEW Local 636 charity Golf Tournament as well as ERTH’s Annual Charity Golf Tournament, and there are still two further sponsorship lined up for later this year.

SilverBlaze’s aim as a company is to improve the lives utility customers by offering providers an improved and simplistic customer experience. Through these sponsorships the company also hopes to help improve the lives of those less fortunate in our local communities.

IBEW Local 636 Charity Golf Tournament

This annual event took place at the Willow Ridge Golf & Country Club in Blenheim, Ontario, on May 26, and was jointly hosted by Entegrus Powerlines and IBEW Local Union 636. With the help of sponsors, including SilverBlaze, and participants, the tournament raised a record $22,000 for MySafeWork – an organization that fights for healthy work environments.

SilverBlaze is proud to be associated with an event that not only raised valuable money for charity, but also proved to be a fun day out. Participants enjoyed a lunch and then a steak dinner, with prizes being handed to attendees for their golfing abilities.

ERTH’S Annual Charity Golf Tournament

SilverBlaze was proud to sponsor ERTH’s 13th Annual Charity Golf Tournament last month, on June 7, especially as the proceeds of the event went to such a worthy cause. The money raised at the tournament went towards Kim’s Climb, an effort that hopes to raise $500,000 for Epilepsy Canada.

Kim’s Climb, which has so far raised $145,800 for the charity (at the time of writing), will see a team of Canadians attempt to summit Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. They aim to raise the targeted donation in memory of the tragic death of Kim Allen from a sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP), when she was just 24 years old. The summit is led by Kim’s brother Leonard Allen of Pickering.

SilverBlaze would like to wish the team well during their August summit attempt, and was happy to contribute to the cause through the sponsorship of ERTH’s annual golf tournament.

SilverBlaze will also sponsor two further tournaments coming up in 2018, and is looking forward to making a difference to local communities throughout Canada.

Oakville Hydro Employee Golf Tournament – To be held on August 15, SilverBlaze is thrilled to be involved with the Oakville Hydro Employee golf tournament. We hope those involved enjoy themselves and we’re sure they are just as excited as us to help out with their local community!

Alectra’s Charity Golf Tournament – Alectra hit the news recently for using new technology to drive its customer engagement, but the company also has strong roots in engaging its local community. Alectra will be hosting its annual charity golf tournament on September 6 this year, with SilverBlaze taking part as a sponsor.

The event, which will be held at the Nottawasaga and Woodington Lake golf clubs, follows on from a successful charity initiative last year from Alectra, which saw the company donate a total of $385,000 to United Way.

Silverblaze is excited to help make a charitable difference in 2018, and looks forward to future opportunities to give back.
